What’s in a name? Renowned caminos, or paths, have shown travellers the way for centuries. Pilgrims in Europe have long followed the Milky Way along the Camino de Santiago to pay homage to the tomb of Saint James in northwest Spain. Spaniards settling North America used the Camino Real to sustain their presence in the west for centuries.
Those enterprises have required vision. Focus on a vision for storytelling is fundamental to Camino Media's success at weaving words with images that transcend borders and cultures. American producer-director Michael Moffett leads a production management team providing sure footing for your story in the Spanish and Portuguese-speaking world of south-western Europe, Latin America or further afield.

EXECUTIVE PRODUCER & DIRECTOR
 Michael Moffett is Managing Partner and visionary at Camino Media. As a veteran TV journalist and filmmaker, Michael provides two decades' experience producing, writing and directing factual television programming for National Geographic Channel, Discovery Channel, PBS, TVE, Euronews and other broadcasters that is the foundation of the crew and supplier network that now serves Camino Media clients. Michael learned firsthand the value of proven, local production service partners during work for production companies, corporate and institutional clients in factual and commercial productions spanning five continents. That experience at the helm of Camino Media provides sure footing for script-to-screen and production service clients alike.
While shooting abroad continues to deliver memorable moments of swimming with sea lions, snacking on frankincense, witnessing live crucifixions or dancing on the tables of Beirut nightclubs, this Los Angeles native, and wine lover, is happily settled into the land of Spanish explorers who first sought the “island paradise” that is his native California.
LINE PRODUCER
 Pilar Narváez Álvarez draws on a broad range of experience in television working for big media corporations like Turner, Viacom and Prisa. From her start in the Programming Department at Canal +, Pilar soon moved into production roles of increased responsibility. Pilar spent six years as Production Coordinator and later Head of Production at Cartoon Network Spain and Executive Producer for various CN programs like the late-night cult favourite Space Ghost and on the road with CNxion Tour fillers. She also worked as a Promo Producer, dubbing and voiceover Supervisor for Turner. At the helm of TNT’s Adult Swim in its Spain launch, Pilar acted as Project Manager, Creative Supervisor and Executive Producer.
Pilar is a big music and film fan, but DVD packs and online entertainment threaten to see this couch potato take root.
PRODUCER
 Roland Palugod Aguado is a seasoned Spanish-American producer whose experience with Camino Media includes location shoots in Spain and Portugal for leading European and American broadcasters and corporations, as well as line production of shoots in Latin America. His career began at PBS corporate headquarters in Washington, DC, where Roland conducted program reviews and evaluations and tracked non-fiction programming deliverables for flagship series including Frontline, Nova, Nature and American Experience. This was followed by a half dozen years of production and development for Discovery Networks International and later on Discovery Latin America in Miami, where his credits included Christopher Columbus: Secrets from the Grave and the science and technology magazine series, Conexión Discovery. Prior to returning to Spain, Roland applied his bilingual and bicultural production skills to the research, development and production of factual filmmaking in the Washington, DC area on programs about the US-Mexican border and the 1918 Influenza Pandemic, AKA, The Spanish Flu.
Growing up in many different countries, Roland now divides his time between Madrid, Washington, DC, and his hometown of Rota and enjoys a wide, perhaps eclectic, but certainly culturally varied set of tastes. A self-confessed news junkie and "proud tree-hugger", outrigger canoeing, Vietnamese cuisine and classic movies also fill his organically-grown hemp bag of interests. Years of experience reviewing and evaluating non-fiction programming and project treatments have sharpened Roland’s sense for story development and keen interest in documentary content, making him equally at ease in the field or knee-deep in research.
TECHNICAL DIRECTOR
 Juan Manuel “JuanMa” Escudero is our “go-to” man for the tools of the trade. A shared sense of adventure and the outdoors first drew him to work with Michael as DoP for National Geographic Channel programming covering dozens of natural history and cultural heritage themes. His technical knowledge of how to get the most out of video production equipment plus a cool head under pressure has since proved invaluable to Camino Media in work on Pepsi-sponsored programming for a global audience featuring David Beckham and commercial productions for Red Bull. During nearly two decades of independent audiovisual production work, JuanMa has designed, shot and directed live and taped multi-camera programming for broadcasters as well as events for public and private sector clients like Clarins, Carrefour and Nestlé. He has also built up a talented team working with in-house equipment ranging from HDCam, EX3 and 5D Mark II cameras to Final Cut Studio HD and Avid DS Nitris edit suites. JuanMa currently splits his time managing the Madrid home of Camino Media’s turnkey productions and directing productions spanning all genres.
JuanMa and many of our technical team are self-confessed Star Wars freaks who inhabit the planet Endor. Fortunately, he is equally adept in the deep blue of planet Earth. JuanMa’s amphibious nature has racked him up several underwater shooting credits as well as the eternal gratitude of at least one director he helped out of treacherous currents.
MANAGING PARTNER & CHIEF RESEARCHER
 Cristina Mateo-Yanguas is Managing Partner and where the buck stops at Camino Media. Initiating her work experience in Washington, DC, fitted Cristina with the valuable skills she later put to use in management for multinational corporations back home in Spain. A diversion into researching, fixing and translating for documentary and journalism projects had her work with media like Los Angeles Times, Washington Post, Globe and Mail, Boston Globe, Sveriges Radio, NBC, CBC, and Discovery Channel as Camino Media took shape. Cristina presently writes for Global Post while also managing most collaborations with veteran foreign correspondents who come in from international news media to report on Spain. The research between stories is ongoing and an endless source of material for Camino Media’s own factual productions, but for a change of pace she also finds time to manage the nuts and bolts of Camino Media’s books and website content.
Madrid is home, but the northern Spanish city of Pamplona – frequented by pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago – holds an enduring draw for Cristina. Running the bulls is just one of the unforgettable experiences she had whiling away youthful summers in the surrounding villages of Navarre where her parents were raised.
Management staff are members of the Spanish Society of Authors, Composers and Publishers (SGAE), the Spanish Press Association (FAPE/APM) and the Spanish Geographic Society (SGE).
